Elections to panchayats to be held next year as per schedule : KCR

Sat, Nov 04 : Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said elections to panchayats will be held next year as per the issued schedule. He held a review meeting with Ministers, MLAs and officials on an allocation of powers and funds to panchayats.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister also directed the officials to upgrade hamlets into panchayats which are having the population of more than 500. He took opinions of Ministers and officials on panchayat system. The Telangana government will introduce new Panchayat Raj Bill in the ongoing Assembly session.
