Telangana govt to provide 24-hour power to farm sector

Mon, Nov 06 : The Telangana government has decided to provide power for 24 hours to farm fields. The trial run for supplying power 24 hours will begin from Monday night. The government has been providing 24-hour power for agriculture in old Medak, Karimnagar and Nalgonda districts.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has instructed the officials concerned to supply power to remaining districts from April 2018. There are at least 23 lakh pumpsets in the state in which 9.58 lakh in three districts alone. The government has allocated Rs 12,000 crore for strengthening power supply system.
