Telangana bags best performing State awards by India Today

Hyderabad: Telangana has bagged the cleanliness & environment category and best performing large state award in economy category, two prestigious State of the States Awards of the India Today here. The awards were received on behalf of the state by IT Minister K T Rama Rao and Backwrd Classes Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna from Central Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari at a function here on Thursday. Telangana stood first in both the categories.
Andhra Pradesh stood 14th and 4th in both the categories of Economy and Environment and Cleanliness.  In addition, the State stood 2nd in overall ranking of large States, 6th in ranking of large States in Education and seventh in Infrastructure.  AP stood second in the rankings of large States in Agriculture while Telangana stood 12. In Inclusive Development, Telangana stood 3rd and AP stood 10th and in Tourism, Telangana stood 5th while AP stood at 19th position.
