Koyaas, Lambada spat over reservations

Kothagudem : Tension prevailed at Kothagudem in Bhadradri district as issues over reservations between Koyaa and Lambada tribes came to a head. Lambadas had called for a 'Athma gauravam' (self respect) meet. They are piqued over the attacks on them, from other tribes like Koyaas, over Scheduled Tribes (ST) reservations. This has led to tension between both the groups. While police refused permission for the Lambada meet, Koyaa students boycotted classes. Heavy police has been deployed at Kothagudem to prevent clashes between the two.
