Child Friendly Court in Hyd : Swati Lakra

Hyderabad : Senior IPS officer and SHE Teams Head Swati Lakra, announced the setting up of a child-friendly court, at Barosa Centre of Hyderabad city police. She said that they have got permission from the state High Court to set up a child-friendly court, as per Supreme Court (SC) guidelines and POSCO Act of 2012.
The court will be headed by an Additional Metropolitan Magistrate. In this the child can testify, confidently, as the accused will not be present anywhere within sight. The proceedings could also be conducted through video conferencing, with a special live link TV. Hyderabad police are hopeful that the court will conduct speedy trials to ensure justice to the children.
