Hyderabad : In Himachal Pradesh general elections 2017, the BJP crossed majority mark by taking lead in 40 Assembly constituencies from the total of 68 while the Congress is leading in 22 segments. Counting of votes began at 8 am on Monday. The anti-incumbency factor and corruption charges against Virbhadra Singh went in favour of BJP. About 337 candidates had contested for 68 Assembly constituencies. The BJP is all set to upset Congress party’s hopes to come back for a second term. Election to Himachal Pradesh was held on November 9, 2017.
