Two burglers arrested, items recovered

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police on Sunday arrested two persons, including a woman, in Medipally, who were involved in burglaries.

The police also recovered properties worth Rs 11 lakh from their possession. The suspects were identified as Bontha Shekar, 22 and Sirigiri Kavitha, 29, both working as daily wage earners.

Ch. R. Umamaheshwar Rao, DCP Malkajgiri, said that the duo were arrested in Jawahar Nagar in 2016. After releasing from prison, they started committing burglaries again.

On inquiry, the duo confessed to committing offences at Ghatkesar and Medipally. They were involved in 17 burglaries, including 15 at Medipally and two at Ghatkesar, this year. The police recovered 32.1 tolas of gold, 86.8 tolas of silver, Rs 10,000 cash and other valuables from them.
