Foundation stone for IT Tower laid in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: Within the next one year, Karimnagar will not only be a home for IT companies but would have startup ecosystem as T-Hub plans to establish its regional plug-and-play facility in the proposed IT Tower coming up on the banks of Lower Manair Dam on the city outskirts. The IT Tower will also house a regional centre of TASK (Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge) to provide skill development training to job seekers.

Laying the foundation for construction of the much-awaited IT Tower near Ujwala Park here on Monday, Information Technology and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said the construction of the IT Tower will be completed within a year along with plug-and-play facilities for IT companies. On the occasion, six IT firms signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the State government, evincing interest for setting up their units in the proposed IT Tower which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 25 crore.

“In the first phase, about 1,000 direct employment opportunities will be created for aspiring techies. To ensure that youngsters from the State get employed, the government is attracting investments into IT and allied sectors,” Rama Rao said. He promised to sanction a second IT Tower after completion of the proposed IT Tower. He suggested job seekers to become job creators and said students who come up with ideas for startups would be accommodated in regional centre of T-Hub which would be established in the proposed IT tower, while TASK would help the students get jobs by giving training in skill development.
