Foolproof security for Nagoba Jatara

Adilabad: Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier said foolproof security arrangements would be made for the smooth conduct of Nagoba Jatara at Keslapur village in Indravelli, slated to be held from January 16 to 21.

The jatara is an annual religious and cultural festival of Adivasis. He said he would personally monitor security arrangements and added that check posts would be set up apart from a control room for round the clock vigilance. The control room would be supervised by Untoor DSP N Venkatesh. A tab would be kept on anti-social elements.

Heavy bandobust is being made for preventing untoward incidents during the important religious affair of Raj Gonds. People want a peaceful environment, he asserted.

The SP further said cops had toured 490 habitations and interacted with locals post-Hasnapur clashes between Adivasis and Lambadas on December 15. All of the dwellers desired for peace and were extending their cooperation in maintaining law and order in agency areas.
