Hyderabad: Three railway stations on the outskirts of Hyderabad —  Cherlapalli, Lingampalli and Nagalapalli — would be developed as terminal stations to decongest the existing stations, said South Central Railway general manager Vinod Kumar.

“The new railway line projects between Karimnagar-Nizamabad, Jaggayyapet-Mellacheruvu-Janpahad, Devarakadra-Jacklair, Bidar-Gulbarga have been completed. The SCR general manager was speaking at a meeting with MPs representing areas that come under the jurisdiction of Secunderabad, Hydera-bad and Guntakal Railway Divisions spread over three states of Telangana, Karna-taka and Maharashtra. Twenty MPs attended the meeting on Wednesday in Secunderabad.

He said the Indian Railways is committed to construct Road Over Bridges and Road under Bridges as part of the Safety Plan in lieu of all the level crossing gates. “It has already proposed construction of 100 ROB and RUBs and waiting for the consent of the state government,’’ he said, adding that the railways has also initiated steps to establish Wagon POH Workshop at Kazipet

The SCR GM said the deliberations with MPs would immensely help the railways in finalising the infrastructural developmental plans for the people of this region.

The proposals which are beyond the powers of the zone, he said, would be forwarded to Railway Board.

The MPs have demanded the construction of new lines, introduction of new trains, extension of existing train services, additional stoppages to existing trains, construction of Road over bridges and providing improved passenger amenities, etc.
