Hyderabad: Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) Deputy Director KB Vandana visited the Chanchalguda Prison here on Tuesday to study various initiatives taken up by the Telangana Prisons Department.
She studied the prisoners welfare activities such as parade, ‘Vidyadaanam’ (education) and morality and ethics classes being conducted by the Ramakrishna Math apart from ‘Unnathi’ counselling classes.
Prisons Deputy Superintendent G Sammaiah explained in detail about the activities introduced by Prisons Director-General V K Singh for the welfare of prisoners to reintegrate them into society after releasing from the prison.
Sammaiah explained the best practices of Telangana prisons as well, including the beautification of the jail premises and maintaining its buildings.
