Adilabad: Joint Collector and Telangana State Revenue Employees Association Joint Action Committee president K Krishna Reddy termed land purification drive a historical effort.
Addressing the pressmen here on Thursday, he said land records prepared in 1956 were messed up, causing disputes among owners. However, the problems with regard to properties would be solved with the help of the arduous process of purifying the documents.
Successive governments ignored the exercise, he opined.The president stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had initiated the process and it was a laudable move.
Records of land were going to be available online in Telangana. No other State in the country achieved this feat. A total of 95 per cent of lands were found to be dispute-free assets, he added. Reddy thanked the employees who took part in the process and extended their cooperation.
He said Rs 1.5 crore was granted for creating amenities at each office of Mandal Revenue Officers or Tahsildars, besides allocating lands for societies of revenue employees of each mandal.
Association’s district president K Chandrasekhar, secretary M Madhukar, Telangana Tahsildars Association president Varna and secretary Rajesh were present.
