Nalgonda/Suryapet: Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahender Reddy on Monday exuded confidence that Telangana police would soon emerge as a force with world class policing standards.
Reddy was addressing a media conference after holding a meeting on crime rate and comprehensive criminals survey, with the police officials of Nalgonda district, at the police headquarters.
Stating that Telangana police stood in No.1 in the country in protecting law and order, the DGP said Telangana Police was working with a plan to create a impression among people that anyone who commits offence cannot escape from police and punishment.
Stating that uniform service delivery standards would be followed by police in the State, the DGP said common people would get same standard of the services when they approach any of the 800 police stations in the State with their grievances. The services would be of the same standard irrespective of whether a constable or Circle Inspector lodges their complaints, he added.
Underlining the need to instill confidence among public, he said the State police were going ahead with public participation mode. He said police personnel would adopt and update knowledge on technology to tackle new forms of crime. Tech Savvy police personnel would be appointed in Cyber Crime Investigation Labs, he added.
We are also working with a plan for the year 2018 to bring standard operational procedures in all wings of the department, he said. No major untoward incident had taken place in the State in last three and half years, he added. Telangana police was No.1 in the country by adopting technology and friendly policing, he said.
He said many parents were sending their children to foreign countries without any fear of their safety due to effective policing. DGP said: “The police can gain confidence of people only when they provide services without discriminating between the rich and poor.”
Earlier, the Director General of Police inaugurated Cyber Forensic Lab and Renovated IT Cell in the District Police Office. Inspector General of Police, Hyderabad Range, Stephen Raveendra; Superintendent of Police, Nalgonda district, D V Srinivas Rao; Additional Superintendent of Police Padmanabha Reddy, and Nalgonda Deputy Superintendent of Police S Sudhakar were also present.
Later, the DGP left for Suryapet by Helicopter for the district tour. He also inspected the construction works of police headquarters of newly formed.
