Mahabubnagar: The new 102 ambulances which were given to every constituency in Mahabubnagar district were flagged off from R&B Guest house in the town by MLA V Srinivas Goud on Monday. Two ambulances were given to each assembly constituency in the district, totaling 10 ambulances which started operations as soon as they were inaugurated.

According to District Medical and Health Officer Rajini, right from the third month of pregnancy, the vehicles could be used by women to go to hospitals for check-up. Every month the ambulances would pick them up and drop them back home after check-up. The free ambulance services would be available at the time of delivery and also after delivery, to attend to any medical need of the baby.

When asked how many ANC cases were coming up in the district, she replied saying 2500 cases per month. She felt that two ambulances for each constituency would be enough to attend to such necessary needs of pregnant, lactating mothers and babies.
