Jogulamba Gadwal: Handloom and Textiles Minister KT Rama Rao, after laying the foundation stone for Gadwal Handloom Park at Pudoor in Gadwal, launched ‘Nivedana’ app for effective redressal of people’s grievances at the District Collectorate on Wednesday.

Complainants can enter all the grievances on the android app throughout the year. Fourteen basic issues affecting the rural folk were identified and people can lodge complaints with respect to those 14 issues.

When a grievance is lodged by a person, the concerned village-level official will be responsible to address it. Within a week, the issue needs to be resolved. If not resolved, the complaint will be escalated to a mandal-level official. The chain of responsibility will go to the Collector if the problem is not solved at all levels.

There is a back-end web portal called ‘Spandana’ app which officials will use to upload the report of the action taken and other information, which people can see on Nivedana app. Status of the grievance and action taken are regularly updated by officials concerned and monitored by higher officials.

While inaugurating the application, KTR said the ‘Nivedana’ would make officials more accountable towards people’s complaints and would instil confidence among the people in the district administration. “This app will make the grievance redressal mechanism more effective,” he told the people gathered there.

“If village-level officials do not take up the work then mandal-level officials can see it. If mandal-level officials fail to solve it then it will reach district officers. What if even Joint Collector and Collector fail to solve the issue? Then will we be able to get that kind of alert from the app,” he quipped.

He appreciated District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini for getting the app developed and hoped people would start using it.
