Hyderabad: A 32-year-old call centre employee was nabbed by the Cyber Crime Police for cheating job aspirants by promising employment at airports. The accused was identified as Kapil Kumar alias Dheeraj Singh, a resident of Ashok Nagar in New Delhi.

“Three complaints were received in December and January from people who were cheated by men promising ground staff jobs at the airport. The accused made them transfer money in bank accounts. The three victims transferred Rs 83,000, Rs 1.7 lakh and Rs 4.17 lakh respectively,” said CCS’s DCP Avinash Mohanty.

Kapil Kumar bought resumes from websites like Justdial, Shine.com etc., and made calls to job-seekers through hired tele callers with a promise of providing jobs at airports under the ‘make in India’ scheme. After aspirants made money transfers online, the accused would not respond to their calls, the DCP said.

A team was sent to Delhi and nabbed Kumar. Rs 4,02,000 cash, 16 mobile phones and cheque books were seized from him.
