'Drunk' cop dashes into vehicle, four injured

Hyderabad: In an alleged incident of drunk driving, a cop driving a mini van carrying around 35 constables of the first battalion of TS Special Police from Yousufguda, ran amok and rammed the vehicle to the median at the entrance of a flyover at Punjagutta in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Four constables sustained minor injuries, while others escaped unhurt in the incident.

Inspector Punjagutta Mr S. Ravinder said that the samples of the constables who was driving are collected and sent for examination for drunk driving test.

The injured cops were identified as Sagar, 29, Purnachandar, 34, Sateesh Kumar, 34, and Manjunath, 29. Around 35 police constables, all belonging to the first battalion of the TSSP at Yousufguda and recently promoted as head constables, were on their way to Warangal for a training.
