Employee from pharma company found dead in Shameerpet lake

Hyderabad: The body of a 30-year-old man working in a pharma company was found in a lake at Shameerpet.

The deceased is suspected to have committed suicide by jumping in the lake.
Based on identity cards in his pockets, police identified him as B. Lakshman Prasanna Kumar.

According to the police, Prasanna Kumar, hailing from Kurnool district, was working for a pharma company at Lalgadi Malakpet village and was living with his friends at a rented flat in Thumkunta.

On Tuesday, he left for work. On the same night, his company authorities contacted Kumar’s roommate and told him that Prasanna Kumar had not reported to work.

Later, Kumar’s family was notified about his disappearance. His family reached the city and along with his friends started searching for him.

Meanwhile, on Thursday morning, workers at the Shameerpet lake noticed a body floating and alerted the police. The body was recovered and identified.
Based on a complaint from his brother, a case under section 174 CrPC has been registered.

His family said that they are clueless about the reasons behind his death. “He was normal and there are no issues at home either, for him to have taken such  an extreme step. We  feel lost and puzzled by this incident.” said his brother.
