Suryapet: Finally, a tribal girl student, Malothu Indu, who has been facing problems to get financial assistance under Overseas Education Scheme for her medicine course in the Philippines, is going to get the help with the initiative of the Chief Minister.
‘Telangana Today’ published a story with the headline “Tribal girl helpless in the Philippines” on February 6. The father of the tribal girl, Malothu Krishna, also brought the matter to the notice of the Chief Minister at the State-level meeting of Farmers’ Coordination Committees in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Reacting to it, the Chief Minister enquired Krishna about his native place and directed Minister for Power G Jagdish Reddy, who was representing from Suryapet district, to settle down the matter immediately.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Krishna thanked the Chief Minister for his kind gesture that would help his daughter to complete medicine in the Philippines. He said the officials collected the required documents of his daughter following the CM’s instructions. He also said the story published in ‘Telangana Today’ also gave him moral support and hope that the government would react and help his family, which was debt-ridden.
It is learnt that unions of tribal students were also planning to conduct ksheerabhisekam to the portrait of the Chief Minister at Osmania University Arts College in Hyderabad for his kind gesture towards the tribal student.
