Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out at the Swagath Grand Hotel in Kushaiguda. The building was not fire safety compliant.

Fire safety norms dictate that any building over 15 metres tall must implement fire safety measures and get a NOC from the GHMC. Though the Swagath Grand is 21 metres tall, fire safety measures were not implemented.

“A fire broke out at 6 pm due to a short circuit. We reached there by 6.15 pm,” said V. Shekhar Reddy, the Fire Station Officer of Cherlapally. Three people were injured – one customer and two members of the housekeeping staff.
