Police seize 31 bikes, 8 autos in Mancherial

Mancherial: As many as 31 bikes, eight autorickshaws and a tractor were seized when owners failed to produce relevant documents during a cordon and search in Tilaknagar on the outskirts of Mancherial on Tuesday.

A team of around 100 policemen, led by Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal carried out the operation.

Duggal said that the cordon and search was conducted as a part of precautionary measures to protect law and order in the town and urged house owners to verify the details of their tenants before renting out their houses. He thanked the people for cooperating during the operation and assured them that their concerns would be addressed. He said that the seized vehicles could be received after producing authentic documents.

Mancherial Deputy Commissioner of Police MS Venugopal Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Police Gouse Baba, Rural Inspector Pramod, Traffic Inspector G Satheesh Kumar, Sub-Inspector Venkateshwar and Madhusudan took part in the operation.
