Hyderabad: The expulsion of two MLAs and suspension of 11 MLAs and six MLCs has politically benefited the Congress to activate its cadre.

Except the recent Bus Yatra, no programme was given to the cadre by the party.

Party leaders, workers from all districts and students from Osmania University turned in  large number and extended their solidarity to expelled MLAs Koma-tireddy Venkata Reddy and S.A. Sampath Kumar, who undertook a 48-hour hunger strike at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday.

Across the state, the Congress cadre has been conducting protests against the TRS government for the expulsion and suspension of their party MLAs.

Addressing the gathering, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the Speaker has been utilising powers which he doesn’t have.

He said they will fight legally on the expulsion of Congress MLAs and also complain to the President against this.

The TPCC president asked the police to stop ‘overaction’ and added that the police should remember that KCR will not continue as the Chief Minister forever.

He warned the police that if they did not change their attitude, they will collect with interest for their work after the Congress comes to power.

Opposition leader in the TS Legislative Council Mohammad Shabbir Ali said that Komatireddy and Sampath Kumar have made a complaint to the Central Election Commission on their expulsion from the House.

Shabbir Ali said that at the time of Rajya Sabha elections, the TRS government had expelled the Congress MLAs to make them lose their voting rights. He warned that the people will revolt against the TRS government. TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy, Opposition leader K. Jana Reddy and party MLAs, MLCs also extended their solidarity to the expelled MLAs.
