Four GST Evaded Cases In Two Months

The Principal Commissioner, Hyd-Commissionerate ,Naresh Penumaka On Friday said that,In just two months, the Goods and Services Tax Commissionerate booked four major tax evasion cases.In detail Sri Venkateswara Creations, a leading film production house, had evaded GST of Rs 8.50 crore. The assessee has paid an amount of 8 crore so far”. Other film industry units also paid up returns of about 40 lakh to the government after the Commissionerate booked this case, the officer said.


In another case, an employee transport services company was booked for evading 1.60 crore. The entire amount was paid up by the company.Tejaswi Jewellers Pvt. Ltd, which is a franchisee of Tanishq Jewellers, evaded 1.10 crore GST. The case is under verification. A cigarette transporter company was booked for transporting cigarettes worth 24 lakh without paying the GST.


“The goods were transported without documents. It is suspected to have transported from Patna to Hyderabad via Karnataka,” the Commissioner’s records said.The Commissionerate had issued notices to 100 evaders who had defaulted over 1 crore.


The Commission also recovered ?110 crore towards service tax dues from 75 non-filers as on March 21, 2018. Gayathri Projects paid up 6.67 crore, IVRCL paid 5.66 crore, Ramky Infra - 5.72 crore, Cosyn Ltd - 5 crore, AARVEE Associates - 3.80 crore, S.S. Constructions - 3.35 crore and RRVPR Constructions paid 3.15 crore.


On Friday, the Commissionerate inaugurated three divisions at Charminar, Begumbazar and Falaknuma.
