Archaelogical excavations at an ancient site in Peddbonkuru village of Peddapalli district, in Telangana State, revealed a number items related to Pre-Satavahana and Satavahana times.
Director of Archaelogy and Museums, N.R.Visalatchy said that the Roman coins found in the diggings show that the history of the place had continued right from second century B.C. The items belong to Gobada, a pre-Satavahana ruler. Chains made of pearls, clay and tortoise-shaped shell beads were found, among pottery, jars, bowls and some metal items.
