Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao called upon his followers to plant a sapling on April 1.
The Minister posted the message on a Whats App group, which was created by his followers in Siddipet, asking them to run a mini-campaign to make the earth cool by planting one sapling each on April 1.
In the past, the Minister has suggested his followers plant a sapling on the birthday of each person in their family or other dear ones which would help in improving the greenery in Siddipet.
His followers have been following this with a miss since then. On Friday, Barla Mallikarjun, a ward councillor of Siddipet Municipality planted a sapling marking his son Pavanasutha’s birthday and posted the picture in the group. Appreciating Mallikarjun and his children for their green initiative, Harish called upon all the group members to launch a mini-campaign to encourage planting of saplings on April 1.
