Need Break To Human Trafficking

Participating in a two-day South Asia Regional Conference on Preventing Human Trafficking here on Saturday,US Consul General Katherine Hadda  said she was looking forward to seeingthe novel approaches in combating trafficking.The Consul General said “combating human trafficking is deeply important issue for the US government. We were so impressed with the whole-of-community support we’re looking for these efforts here in Hyderabad, throughout India and across the region.”  An NGO- Prajwala Chief Functionary Sunitha Krishnan said human trafficking was a man-made disaster and it can be easily prevented not only in India but all over the world. All of us bear the guilt of our collective silence on this issue. 

The conference also showcased a pioneering prevention campaign, Swaraksha,which was implemented in 2016 by Prajwala in partnership with the US Consulate General Hyderabad. Swaraksha was a first-of-its-kind, survivor-led community awakening  caravan.
