WhatsApp group admin was arrested in Hyderabad for sharing content related to sexual abuse of minors, Cyberabad Police are now focused on nabbing other members of the group. Initial probe has revealed that many members of the group ‘Bringing Together’ hail from Nizamabad, which is also the hometown of Kushal, group admin. Kushal, a junior lecturer at a corporate college in Nizampet had shared in the group how he had sexually abused his 14-year-old cousin.
A case under Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act was booked and he was arrested and sent to remand on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kushal’s cousin also admitted that Kushal had forced himself on the boy who had recently visited Kushal's residence in Kukatpally to spend the summer holidays.
Meanwhile, Balala Hakkula Sangham has appealed to parents to take precautions for their children’s safety particularly during the vacation. “In several cases of child abuse, teachers and staff of schools are found to be culprits. We demand that schools make teachers and staff undergo a psychometric analysis test before they are appointed," said Mr Achyutha Rao.
Investigating officials stated that Kushal started the group around two years ago for communication between his friends. But a few days ago, he wrote the group questioning what the experience of a person who has sex with his cousin would be. He later wrote how he sexually abused his cousin. While a couple of his friends wanted to know more about it, others warned him. He, however, was unperturbed and continued explaining to them about his sexuality.
Police are now trying to trace other members in the group, especially those who wrote in support of Kushal's act. “There are at least four people who are very active in the group. More details will be revealed once they are nabbed and questioned,” police said.
