PM interaction With Students in Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asked students to pursue the ‘Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018’ during their summer vacation for bringing a change in the society.

First of its kind, the summer internship was introduced by UGC and includes credit points, said Mr Modi during his monthly Mann Ki Baat programme. The internship was jointly designed by the Union ministries of HRD, sports and water.

The 100-hour experiential internship programme would require the candidate to visit one or more villages and conduct activities of their choice to contribute to the cause of rural sanitation in India. Interested students can register themselves for the summer internship from April 25, 2018, up to May 15, 2018.All the participants will be given a Swachh Bharat Internship Certificate upon the completion of their internship. Two curriculum credits will be given to interns. The best three interns or teams will be recognised at college, university, state, and national levels.

The best three at college level will be awarded shields/cups and special certificates. The top 3 at the state level would get Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000, while those at the national level will get Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1 lakh, and Rs 50,000.
