A Man was arrested for attempting sexually assault on a Child

A 40-year-old man was arrested for attempting sexually assault on a 11-year-old girl at Jawaharnagar on Tuesday. The suspect identified as Bandari Jahangir offered Rs 5 to the victim to buy toffees and touched her inappropriately.

According to the police, the victim was alone at home for summer vacation. Her parents, who are both working as daily wage earners, were away from home on Tuesday afternoon. Taking advantage of this, Jahangir, their neighbour, came home and touched the victim inappropriately. The shocked victim immediately raised alarm. Fear of being caught, the accused fled from the spot. Neighbours arrived at the spot and came to know about the incident from the girl. Later, they informed her parents and also alerted the cops.

“He is arrested and will be produced before the court,” an investigating officer said.
