Hyderabad: Congress leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Wednesday objected to comments made by legislator A. Revanth Reddy on TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.

Mr Revanth Reddy had said that the “team leader” (Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy) was ignoring him, and that he had no proper advisers.

Speaking to the media, Mr Sudhakar Reddy, Te-langana state Congress Legislature Party deputy leader, said that Mr Revanth Reddy had joined the party only recently, and that he had not been given any assurances by the AICC.

He said no one joined the Congress with conditions, and counselled patience. The party was important than its leaders, he said.

He said the party wou-ld discuss the issues Mr Revanth Reddy had rai-sed at the its core committee meeting. To a question, he said that in the Congress, the Chief Minister comes from the party’s ranks.

Mr Sudhakar Reddy pointed out that Mr Rev-anth Reddy had sided with TD chief N. Chan-drababu Naidu who fou-ght for united AP during the statehood agitation.

Mr Sudhakar Reddy said though the then Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, had given statehood to Telangana, the Congress could not come to power due to lack of coordination among party leaders.

He said the party’s bus yatra had boosted the morale of Congress wor-kers but more had to be done.
