Bank union will strike work on Last Days Of May

Nine unions of Bank employees under the umbrella of United Forum of Bank union will strike work on May 30 and 31 in protest against the delay in wage revision.

In a notice served to the Indian Banks Association (IBA), they said that the members of all constituent unions of United Forum of Bank Unions will go on strike for 48 hours  starting from 6 am on May 30. “We are opposing the government's casual approach to wage revision for bank employees, IBA’s meagre offer of 2 per cent hike in the wage bill towards wage increase and partial mandate given by some of the banks only up to Scale III Officers,” they said.

The unions also demanded expeditious and early wage revision settlement, adequate increase in salary and improvement in other service conditions.They also wanted the wage revision settlement to include all officers up to Scale-VII.
