District Collector of Mancherial RV Karnan on Saturday distributed pattadar passbooks and agriculture input subsidy among farmers as part of Rythu Bandhu scheme. Bellampalli Sub-Collector Rahul Raj accompanied Karnan. He toured Dammireddypeta, Jangalpet and Manneguda villages of Nennela mandal. He exhorted farmers to make use of the input subsidy and verify technical details in their passbooks like land survey number, account number and the area of land and so on. He asked them to bring to the notice of authorities if any mistakes were detected.

Those enjoying lands under the Forest Rights Act will get the input subsidy in the second installment, he said.  As an alternative to cotton crop, he advised farmers to grow food grain crops and interacted with them seeking their feedback on Rythu Bandhu scheme.

The Collector had reached Dammireddypeta, a remote village in the forest fringes, on a two-wheeler along with Bellampally Sub-Collector. He had to walk for some distance as the two-wheeler’s wheels got struck in the sandy bed of a local stream.  The villages sought road facility and three-phase power supply to their village among other things.

Tahsildar Rajalingu, agriculture officer Vamsi Krishna, farmers coordination committee mandal president Gaddam Ashok Goud, MPTC Bujjamma, sarpanch Ramesh Goud and others were present.
