In the Karnataka election results, the BJP is surging ahead in 111 Assembly seats from the total of 222 and heading towards the majority marks of 113. The Congress is leading in 66 Assembly seats and JD(S) in 43 segments.
The BJP will form the government on its own without the support of the JD(S). The early poll trends have predicted that the JD(S) will emerge as a kingmaker as the BJP or Congress were neck-to-neck. Granting minority status to Lingayats did not work in favour of Congress.
