Maharashtra farmers are interested to merge their villages with Telangana

TRS MP K. Kavitha on Wednesday said that the Maharashtra farmers are interested to merge their villages with Telangana to avail welfare schemes launched in the state.

According to her, Dharmabad Taluka Sarpanch Association president and Babli sarpanch Babu Rao Ganpath Rao Kadam and other sarpanches met Nizamabad rural MLA Bajireddy Govardhan on Tuesday and expressed their willingness to merge their villages with Telangana.Speaking at Rythu Bandhu cheque distribution programme in Jakranpally mandal on Wednesday, Ms Kavitha said that Babli sarpanch Babu Rao Ganapath Rao Kadam had written a letter to the Telangana government urging Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to initiate the required process to merge their villages, which come under Maharashtra, into Telangana.

She said the Maharashtra farmers are showing interest in farmer-friendly initiatives in TS. Prior to the reorganisation of states in 1956, she said Babli and other villages were under Hyderabad State and later undivided Andhra Pradesh and they want join us once again for 24x7 free power, Rythu Bandhu scheme and other farmer initiatives and welfare schemes.
