The Union ministry for women and child welfare has issued a sixth look-out notice against an NRI husband evading arrest.

The Integrated Nodal Agency in its meeting held on May 15 decided to issue the notice. The agency has also recommended that the passport of the person may be revoked as per the provisions of the Passport Act.In April, the ministry had issued five look-out notices examining the complaint received regarding matrimonial disputes involving non-resident Indians.

In criminal matters involving non-resident Indians, the look-out notice can be issued by the Integrated Nodal Agency in cognisable offences, when the husband who is overseas is deliberately evading arrest or not appearing in the trial court despite non-bailable warrants being issued against him.

The notice can also be issued when there is a likelihood that the non-resident Indian husband will leave the country to evade trial or arrest . The look-out notice will be issued after having the case scrutinised by National Commission for Women.
