Minister Harish Rao participated in the national convention on Rejuvenation of Krishna Waters, held at Mokshagundem Visveswaraiah Hall in Hyderabad. He said that Telangana restored some 6,000 lakes under Mission Kakatiya.

With this, the ground water level in the state has improved by 10 mts. Maharashtra is utilising 100 tmc Krishna waters in Koyna Dam for electricity generation and the remaining is let out into the Arabian Sea. In stead, if the water was diverted in the downward flow of the river, more power can be generated and a variety of other purposes could be served, he said.
