Another Person Injured Due To the Rumor of Brain Eaters Gang

Even as cops requested people to not believe social media rumours about interstate gangs killing people and stealing their vital parts, one unidentified persons was beaten up severely by residents of Maal Cheruvu tanda under Akkannapet Police limits in Siddipet.

Cops swung into action and rescued the person only to find that he was mentally unsound. Cops also found that he had had no food for three days and gave him food and clothing. He was later admitted to a home. The incident comes a day after TS DGP M. Mahender Reddy appealed to citizens to not believe rumours on social media and warned that strict action will be taken against those who spread such rumours. Villagers felt something suspicious about him and stopped him to inquire his details. When he could not speak up, they mistook him to be a member of an interstate gang and beat him, asking him questions about the gang and his associates.

Akkannapet circle-inspector Srinivas Jee and his team rushed to the tanda and rescued the man and dispersed the crowd.Upon further enquiry, the person told cops that his name is Tukaram alias Govind and that he hails from Maharashtra.The circle inspector gave him a haircut and purchased two pairs of clothes for him before admitting him to a care center at Choutuppal.He also donated rice, oil and pulses to the home for taking care of the man.
