Neredmet police arrested a 19-year-old school dropout boy

Neredmet police arrested a 19-year-old school dropout on Thursday for beating up the family of a minor girl he was stalking for a year.Neredmet inspector Jagadish Chander identified the dropout as Sravan, 19, who failed his SSC exam. The victim is a minor and is doing her intermediate.

“For the past year, Sravan was pursuing the complainant. She had refused his proposal two to three times in the past,” the inspector said.Sravan even threatened the complainant that he would end his life if she did not cooperate. The parents of the complainant warned Sravan in the past to stay away from their daughter, the inspector said. In April, he started harassing the complainant again. On May 14, Sravan allegedly stopped the complainant when she returning home in the evening and asked her why she was not taking his calls. He did not let her go until she spoke to him, the inspector said.

“On Wednesday evening, the accused went to her house, kicked opened the door and beat up the mother and relatives,” inspector Jagadish Chander said. Following this incident, the minor went to the police who booked a case against Sravan under PoCSO Act and IPC.
