The fear of inter-state kidnapping gangs seems to have struck the common man hard after pictures and audio messages about their sightings became viral on social media. People from the city were found talking to each other and expressing their fear over every suspicious person they spot. Not only this, they have also been chasing them and harassing them.

Vijay Kumar, assistant commissioner of police Panjagutta, said, “There are no gangs in the state and we have been telling people the same. Till now, we have got complaints only from the outskirts, that too with people they are not familiar with. When people see them moving suspiciously, they start thrashing them. I urge people not to panic and dial 100 to get in touch with us.”
