Adivasi Hakkula Porata Samiti (Thudumdebba) state president and former MLA Soyam Bapurao on Sunday said Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, even though he is the chief minister of the state, cannot be ruler for Adivasis as per the Indian Constitution. He said it is governor Narasimhan who is their boss.

Mr Bapurao was speaking at a preparatory meeting in the premises of Keslapur temple in Indravelli for Thudumdebba of the four districts for the implementation of the self-rule. “Residents will raise black flags in their villages on June 2, which is the , in protest against the state government's indifferent attitude towards the Adivasis and their prime demand of removal of Lambadas from the ST list,” he said.

Mr Bapurao said Mr Rao never gave an opportunity to Adivasi leaders leading the agitation to discuss their problems and demands with him. He said the Adivasis prefer self-rule, as the state government failed to meet their demands in the past four years. But unfortunately, governor Narasimhan is busy worshipping Tirupati Venkanna and visiting temples while Adivasis' problems were being neglected in the state.

Mr Bapurao said agency areas were not the 'Jagir' of the chief minister or Prime Minister Narendra Modi and self-rule was the constitutional right of the Adivasis. He said the demand which originates from Adilabad district will spread to entire country in the coming days. “The rulers have no knowledge about self-rule rights of the Adivasis under Constitution,” he said.He alleged that the CM was imposing his feudal and autocratic attitude on the residents in agency areas with no respect for the sentiments of the Adivasis and their aspirations.
