Telangana Praja Samithi (TPS) president Neera Kishore today demanded that the State government move High Court against the verdict of acquittal of those allegedly involved in Mecca masjid Blasts case. The TPS, which spearheaded Telangana movement in 1969 will move the court against the acquittal of the accused if the government fails to do so, she said.

In a letter addressed to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao here, Neera Kishore took serious exception that the government failed to take action even after one month of the verdict. It was heart-breaking terror attack on the Mecca Mosque in the heart of the city with impunity that claimed nine lives and injured 54 and the culprits were let off scot free. Justice has been denied to kin of victims of the bomb blast and there is no sign of taking action against it by the government, she said. If the government fails to file a case it is tantamount to protecting the guilty and failure to protect fundamental rights, she alleged.

The acquittal has not only scared the hearts and minds of the Muslims in Telangana and world over and also hurt the sentiments of the other communities who believe that terror has no religion, Neera Kishore opined. TPS, which is noted for fighting for the cause of the statehood and spearheaded the 1969 Telangana agitation, will move the court against the acquittal, in case of the government failure to file a case, she added. It is the duty of the State government to protect the people as per Constitution and deliver justice to the families of slain sons of Telangana, she said.
