The cut-off stood at 90 per cent for BBA

Admissions into degree colleges have begun, and the cut-off in a few top colleges is 95 per cent for combinations like Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. The cut-off for commerce is about 90 per cent, said Dr N. Ramesh, secretary and correspondent for Aurora's Degree and PG College.

He said the cut-off for Life Sciences-Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and chemistry-Microbiology were between 76 and 78 per cent. “The cut-off has not changed much in our college compared to last year,” Dr Ramesh said.At the Indian Institute of Management and Commerce, the cut-off ranged from 80 to 85 per cent for all courses, principal K. Raghuveer said.

St Mary's College, Yousufguda, principal George Mathew said, “our college considers not just marks, but looks for students who take initiatives and have leadership potential, active students who have more than just marks.” Despite that, the cut-offs had gone up by 5 per cent in most courses.

Mr B.P. Padala, chairman of Roots Degree College, said, “The shift towards liberal arts from engineering which was evident for the last few years has taken a definite shape this year.” The cut-off stood at 90 per cent for BBA.
