Update on Police Recruitment

Considering the representations from job aspirants, the State Government has issued orders raising the upper age limit by three years for direct recruitment of police personnel through the Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board for various posts.

The notifications for about 18,000 posts of various posts in police, disaster response & fire services department, prisons and correctional services department, and special protection force was issued on May 31. In the revised notification, the upper age limit for police constable post has been increased to 25 years. For the post of sub-inspectors, the age limit is raised to 28 years for general candidates. The age limit for the post of jail warden and firemen is increased to 33 years, while job aspirants below 33 years can apply for the station fire officer and deputy jailer positions. The notification said that 28 years is the age limit for assistant matron posts.

Further, the government has also decided to conduct qualifying language tests during the final written examination for the ranks of Sub-Inspector of civil police or equivalent posts (Paper-I: English, Paper II: Telugu/Urdu).

Meanwhile, for SI (technical) Information Technology and Communication and assistant sub-inspector in fingerprint bureau, the question paper would be in two parts including 25 % objectives for 25 % in part I and descriptive question for 75 % in second part.The applications should be submitted online on ‘www.tslprb.in’ between June 9 and June 30.The examination fee can be paid at Mee Seva (e-Seva) / TS Online / AP Online centres and payment gateway (credit card/debit card/ internet banking).
