Telangana government has allotted 2,000 crore for minorities welfare

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday said that the State has grown by leaps and bounds and is setting an example for other states.

Mr. Rao was speaking at the annual iftar where he said that in terms of welfare of minorities, other states are looking to Telangana, especially in the field of their education.Lauding the efforts of advisor to the Telangana government on Minorities Welfare A. K. Khan and secretary of the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) B. Shafiullah, he said that in the next 10 years, there will be a revolution in the sphere of education.

He also praised TMREIS students who were selected to visit the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in USA.Mr. Rao said that while the budget of the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs is around 4,000 crore, the Telangana government has allotted 2,000 crore for minorities’ welfare. “Telangana is the only state with a 2,000 crore budget for minorities welfare,” he said.

The CM said that he and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi, along with people from the 31 districts, would go in a special train to the Ajmer Dargah to pay respects. He said that the continuous efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali has resulted in the Rajasthan government alloting a one acre land parcel in Ajmer to construct a rubaat (inn) for pilgrims from Telangana.
