MLC K Damodar Reddy Joined in TRS

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao stated that the biggest favour done by the previous Congress governments to Telangana region was pending and incomplete irrigation projects, while Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao completed them and turned the barren lands of Palamuru into cultivable land. He felt that the growing love for people towards TRS was an indication of its achievements.

“We gave water to about 6.5 lakh acres in Palamuru region by completing Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme as well as Bhima, Dindi, Koil Sagar and Nettempadu projects. We are ready to provide irrigation facility to another 1.5 lakh acres by the end of this year by completing Thummilla project which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 780 crore,” he said. Addressing a massive gathering of Congress leaders from Nagar Kurnool district who joined TRS at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday evening, Harish Rao said the Congress leaders were joining TRS as the latter was fulfilling the dreams of people of the State. “I still remember when the Chief Minister went to inaugurate Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme, despite being a former Congress MLA Yedla Kishta Reddy welcomed him and thanked the TRS government for creating irrigation facility in Palamuru region. Today, he joined us to take forward the development agenda of the State government,” he added. He was confident that TRS will sweep all seats in erstwhile Mahabubnagar district in the next elections.

Senior Congress leader and MLC K Damodar Reddy along with former MLAs Kishta Reddy and VC Abraham as well as scores of their followers comrpising ZPTCs, MPTCs, Sarpanches and others from Congress party joined TRS on Saturday. They said that they were attracted to TRS party after witnessing formidable development of erstwhile Mahabubnagar district within a short span of four years. They vowed to strengthen TRS in erstwhile Mahabubnagar district and ensure that the party emerges victorious in the next elections.

Finance Minister Etela Rajender said that erstwhile Mahabubnagar district was once known for migrations but it was now one of the fastest developing regions in the State. “Telangana State is turning into a role model for other States in the countries. With rapid development, Palamuru region is a standing proof for the State’s development,” he added. He wished that the joining of senior politicians like Damodar Reddy, would strengthen TRS further in the region.

Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, C Laxma Reddy, P Mahender Reddy, TRS Floor Leader in Lok Sabha A Jithender Reddy, former MP and Special Representative of Telangana State government in New Delhi Manda Jagannadham, Telangana State Planning Board Vice Chairman S Niranjan Reddy and other senior TRS leaders also spoke on the occasion.
