The announcement was made by prominent Islamic scholars under the aegis of the Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee of Hyderabad Deccan, which met at the Hussaini Building at Moazzam Jahi Market on Thursday evening. The committee made the announcement after getting confirmation that the moon was not sighted anywhere in the Telugu states and in the neighbouring states as well.
