Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday left for Delhi by a special flight from Begumpet airport to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and take up pending issues.

Mr Rao will also participate in the Niti Aayog meeting being convened by Mr Modi on June 17 with the Chief Ministers of all states. Speculations are rife that a proposal on holding simultaneous polls for the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies in all states would come up for discussion at the Niti Aayog meeting.

On top of Mr Rao’s agenda during the visit to the capital is to seek Mr Modi’s nod for amending the Presidential Order of 1975 to implement new zonal system, cleared by the Cabinet recently, which is aimed at ensuring 95 per cent reservations for locals in employment and education.

Besides, Mr Rao also wants to seek the Centre’s approval for the TS Reservations Act passed in April 2017, enhancing reservations for Muslims to 12 per cent and STs to 10 per cent. It has been lying with the Centre for a year.
