Osmania University cautions PHD aspirants

Hyderabad: Osmania University has cautioned PhD aspirants not to believe people who assure them of a seat in various faculties in the selection process that is currently underway.

The university advised students to alert its officials if they were approached by touts. The university took serious note of the talk doing rounds that a few persons could facilitate admission on payment of a specified sum.

These persons claimed that the money was to be distributed to officials involved in the selection of candidates. Clarifying, that the university would strictly adhere to PhD rules and regulations, the varsity has advised faculty to report any person trying to influence and vitiate the admission process.

Varsity officials warned the faculty of stringent action if there they deviated from procedure. The university said it had put in place a surveillance mechanism to identify such individuals.
