KCR to visit Vijayawada today

Telangana's  Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will visit Vijayawada along with his family members on Thursday. Mr Rao will leave from Begumpet airport on a special flight.


Mr Rao will offer a nose ring to Goddess Kanakadurga and fulfil the vow he took during the statehood agitation that he would offer gold to the presiding deities in some prominent temples if Telangana State is formed. 


This is the chief minister’s fifth visit to AP since the bifurcation of state in June 2014. According to CMO officials, he will have darshan of the deity  at 11.30 am on Thursday and will return to Hyderabad on the same day.


Mr Rao has already offered a gold crown to Goddess Bhadrakali in Warangal and a gold moustache to Veerabh-adraswamy at Kuravi in Mahabubabad district as per his vow.
