Two job seekers from Hyderabad stuck in Malaysia

Family members of two persons from the city who are stranded in malaysia have sought help of the external affairs ministry to help them return. Mohammed Ghouse and Mohammed Bilaluddin of Bhavaninagar in the Old City were offered a job at a bread packing unit at a salary of 2,200 Ringgit.


“The travel agent said they will get a visit visa which will be changed to a job visa after they join the company. We paid Rs 1 lakh to the agent and the two travelled to Malaysia in October last.” a family member said. In Malaysia they were asked by another agent, Mohd Amir, to deposit their passports with him. They were taken to a remote area 90 km from Kuala Lumpur and asked to work in a resort as cleaners. They were being made to work for 15 hours a day and not provided proper food accommodation, they alleged. Their visa expired in January but they were not being allowed to return.
